Thatch repairs

Not every roof needs a full re-thatch. Often a repair to one area adds years to the life of the coat. Send us photos of the damage with the form, and we give you a free quote.

Re-thatching

When a thatched roof wears thin, the coat no longer sheds water well. A re-thatch removes the worn material back to a sound base and lays a new coat. We then finish the roof with a new ridge.

Re-ridging

The ridge is the cap along the top of a thatched roof. It takes the worst of the weather, so it wears out before the main coat. A new ridge every 10 to 15 years keeps the whole roof sound for longer.

New build thatching

We thatch new houses, extensions, garages, gazebos and garden walls. We give free advice on materials and roof design at the start of a project, and on site with your builder.

Thatch condition reports

Are you buying or selling a thatched house, or does your insurer want a report on the roof? A master thatcher inspects the roof and gives you one written report that does all three jobs, for one fixed price.

A thatched roof lasts longest when small problems are repaired early. Our Thatch Care Plan puts a master thatcher on your roof every year, for one fixed annual fee.
