## Thatch in Buckinghamshire

In the Vale of Aylesbury, many thatched cottages have walls of witchert, a local mix of chalk, clay and straw. Long Crendon and Haddenham have some of the best examples.

These houses need a roof that throws water well clear of the walls, so the eaves and the depth of the coat matter. We take care to keep the walls dry.

We cover the whole county, with most of our work in the Vale of Aylesbury and the Chilterns.
